RAM Construction was given the opportunity to work with The Chaseley Trust in Eastbourne following an introduction from a former member of the Armed Forces who was also involved with the property management committee.
The project involved a programme of targeted external repairs, focusing particularly on the building's brickwork, stonework and masonry.
The front elevation was divided into individual working areas, enabling repairs to be carefully targeted where required.

One of the key challenges was the variety of defects across the building's external masonry. The front elevation incorporated both brick and stone, with defects ranging from localised pointing and cracking to deteriorated bricks and larger areas of damaged stonework.
Rather than adopting a wholesale replacement approach, the elevation was separated into individual working sections, allowing the required repairs to be addressed in a targeted manner.
The £35,000 project provided a considered programme of repairs focused on addressing defects while retaining the building's existing character and fabric wherever practical.
For RAM Construction, the project is a strong example of the type of heritage masonry, traditional brickwork, stonework and sympathetic restoration that has become an increasingly important part of our specialist offering.
Most importantly, it gave us the opportunity to work with The Chaseley Trust, supporting the ongoing care of an important Eastbourne property and developing a relationship that originated through a valued Armed Forces connection.
